The Mysteries of Trees – Algum/Almug Tree

Mark 8:22–26 (KJV 1900)

22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

Please first note the definition as it is translated into Hebrew. The transliterated noun shows that Hebrew Scripture calls this tree either Almug or Almugwood, while English speakers know it as Algum. Transliteration is what happens to a word in one language that does not correspond to another language perfectly and must use different or different-ordered letters.

We will be studying both Algum and Almug because of this translation difficulty.

Solomon built the House of God. No longer confined to a large tent structure as a Tabernacle, Solomon built the Temple to contain the essence of the LORD God in the Ark of the Covenant, in the Holiest of Holy rooms. Precious Stones were used to add beauty to the structure.

Later, we learn that Christian works are tried by fire on their day of examination; those that did great works for the LORD God upon the Foundation of Christ would show either Gold, Silver, or Precious Stones for a reward. Those works that suffer loss would reveal Wood, Hay or Stubble (but their salvation would NOT be touched.)

We also learn the Holy Spirit of God dwells in each believer that has been baptized by the Holy Spirit Baptism, and that Holy Spirit dwells inside a temple of God and that temple is inside a believer. Guess where the gold, silver, and precious stones are exactly inside a Believer?!?

That’s right folks; those precious stones, gold, and silver are used to make beautiful the temple of God, inside a Follower of Christ doing great works for Him. It is the Holy Spirit that guides all works of a Christian to the highest levels, and it is the temple inside each believer that these different brilliant rewards are placed, awaiting the testing of fire. Isn’t that cool when Scripture comes together so perfectly?

Much later in Scripture, we learn that the Holy Jerusalem will have the glory of God inside her.

Her light will shine through a precious stone that it is made with, clear as crystal! Thanks be to God for sharing the beauty of His rewards and decorations for His Temple.

Herbs

We have NOT yet studied Herbs, yet they are an important symbol that touches the same Scriptures often that our Trees touch. Simply put my eager students, Herbs support Natural Life and Trees are the Spiritual Life of man. Just remember that small part about Herbs as we move on.  We will be studying herbs  in much greater detail in the next series  of lessons.

Notice how Queen Sheba’s gifts bring the best herbs ever known to Solomon as a gift to him and his wisdom. It was a special gift to enhance his Natural Life and show favor by Sheba.

The presence of these herbs suggest that it was Natural Life treasures that was given by Sheba.

Notice how the servants of Huram and Solomon brought Gold from Ophir, Algum Trees, and Precious Stones. The presence of Algum Trees suggest that it was Spiritual Life treasure given by the servants.

Both were the greatest of gifts. But we can be certain that with the inclusion of the type of trees brought by the servants as Algums, that Algum Trees are definitely a Spiritual Life level that honors God.

Why did the servants of Huram (Hiram) and Solomon bring Spiritual Life gifts?

King Hiram of Tyre provided materials to David for building his palace and to Solomon for building His temple. Tyre is famous for their giant Cedar Trees, and they figured predominately in the buildings. But, this time, during Queen Sheba’s giftings to discover Solomon’s wisdoms, King Hiram continues to send King Solomon Spiritual Life supplies worthy of the House of God that Solomon was building.

King Solomon used the gifted Algum Trees, to build terraces to the house of the LORD God, and to his palace, harps and psalteries for his singers. The text slightly suggests that Solomon gifted some of these special items made from Algum Trees to Queen Sheba since she had not brought those materials (2 Chronicles 9:12)

Terraces – 5019 לּהָסִ מְ) mesilꞏlā(h)): n.fem.; ≡ Str 4546; TWOT 1506d—1. LN 1.99–1.105 main  road, highway, i.e., an open-country thoroughfare used much, that is relatively wide and  maintained (Nu 20:19); 2. Terraces

Note the tremendous amount of symbology contained within the word “Terrace” as applied to its meaning in Hebrews. You can be assured that every bit of the deeper meaning of Terrace is applied to the House of God that Solomon was building. He chose the Algum Tree to make the Terraces, because that was the steps that led into the House of God.

Figuratively, steps that lead to the house of God, made from Algum Trees, represent the steps of the journey of a Spiritual Life leading toward the LORD God.

Let’s just glance at another figurative meaning that is suggested by the  Hebrew word of a harp:

The Mysteries of Trees – Almond Tree

Our study first started from the healed blind man who saw men as trees, walking in Mark 8:22-26. We have studied many of the tree “parts” and learned their symbolic representations in Scripture.

In the upcoming weeks, we are going to study some different types of spiritual lives, represented by different trees in Scripture. As we mature as Christians, we find ourselves fitting into a very specific place in a very specific way in the Kingdom of God, and we learn about the spiritual lives of others that surround us in our Church led by Christ with each of us having a “path” to walk upon. As we learn to walk expertly as trees walking with Christ, we are developed by the Lord to our full potential.

We give up more and more of ourselves and get out of the way of the Holy Spirit as He creates the living works. Knowing our places spiritually walking in the Kingdom of God is an exciting step that grounds us and encourages us to improve our walking even more! Looking forward to the next walking journey with you!

Up to this point, our Scripture text has identified the different parts of a tree specifically. Most references to the different parts came right from our Lord Jesus Christ’s teachings. Now that we are moving to specific trees, it will become more difficult to find specific explanations. It is important that mature Christians, interpret conservatively, analyze correctly, and consider reliability when trying to understand the next studies. I will always be honest with you and tell you how likely or troublesome the interpretation is.

As mature Christians, you must figure the weight of Truth for yourselves. All the words within Scripture are INERRANT and always the Truth of God. However, lone references or scant mentions of something prevents full understanding of that Truth. I promise you that everything I teach, I am convinced upon 100% because of my advanced studies, and the Holy Spirit inside me that confirms it to me. I pray that as you study with me, you have that amount of surety also.

From this point on in our studies together, I will add an Interpretation Confidence Chart at the end of the page, as we study the different trees. I will support all my teachings with the evidence I have to confirm the meaning. Even then, some are lacking in enough firm evidence to confidently declare an interpretation as Truth of God fully. Please refer to this chart each time you study, so you can understand the degree of my certainty in the deep and hidden meanings of the different trees.

IMPORTANT HEBREW NAMES

One of the first things we should examine when trying to nail down a full typology of a word, is the Hebrew word that is used to denote it. Biblical Hebrew likes to use very specific names that give good description of the words chosen, and often, symbols can be derived from the closeness of speech.

Can you see why looking at Hebrew words is so important?

The word for Almond Tree in Hebrew is קדֵשָׁ) šāꞏqēḏ)

The word for the verb “To Watch Over” is קדַשָׁ) šāꞏqǎḏ)

A little vowel sound changes only; and that sound change makes no difference to the hearing of the pronounced word. The Hebrew word for the noun Almond Tree and the verb “To Watch Over” are connected perfectly. When you see two different words, especially a noun and a verb, sound almost identical in Hebrew, it is certain that they are very related in Scripture.

Just by comparing Hebrew, we already know one aspect of the spiritual life of the Almond Tree. Someone experiencing the spiritual life of the Almond Tree will be “watching over” something! Most scholars focus on that connection and carry the “watch over” typology to Scripture representation concerning the Tabernacle tools.

How does this all fit together? Let’s take a journey in Scripture and check it out!

Genesis 43:8–14 (KJV 1900)

Seldom are questionable words found in Scripture, especially the King James Bible; they are very rare. However, some scholars feel the author of Genesis 30:37-43 probably mistakenly identified the Almond Tree as the Hazel. Scholars think the Hebrew word of “luz” was used to probably speak of location (where almond trees grow) rather than tree. Regardless, it seems an easily correctable interpretation, when Bible scholars compare the Almond as the best fruit, to the Hazel, which does not qualify. However, for purposes of our study, we are going to assume that it is NOT a misnomer, that says Hazel as Almond. We are going to interpret conservatively and exclude this Scripture from deep study of the Almond Tree. However, I want you to be aware that Genesis 30:37-43 might qualify for deeper info on Almond, but it is not worth the risk to mistranslate.

An additional note: I firmly believe that the Word of God is “inerrant,” without error, as it is written in its original text. Sometimes, our enemy will try to suggest “error” in Scripture by pointing to this mislabeled tree. I’m a mature Christian and personally call this a “non-event” that does NOT constitute an “error” of Scripture, and the misunderstanding is my lack of knowledge for this word.

As mature Christians, you can decide for yourselves; however, be aware, it is a slippery slope when you declare the Word of God to have error. It is best practice to blame a simple case like this to be your ignorance, NOT God’s mistake, and move on.

Does it surprise you that one of the special furnishings has a foundation (base) and branches? Me neither. The Works of the Lord are surely represented by the pure gold candlestick that gives light. Amen?

An interesting sidenote for bowls on the candlestick. See how the Hebrew word for bowls explains the container shape, however, “there is no focus on the function of a vessel in this word.” You can’t squeeze any typology out of something in the Word of God that has no function. The bowl on the candlestick is just a bowl; though it looks like a cup, it has no symbol of a cup, no use as a cup; it is just a cup shape.

The “beaten” forming of the candlestick is highly interesting; it seems an important requirement that it be beaten and not poured. Typologically, it shows how the Lord’s best golden works require a great deal of effort to fashion it perfectly.

The Mysteries of Trees – Fruits

We must realize that at this point in our study, we know what “FRUIT” means in our Scripture.

Fruit are the living works of the LORD God, done through followers of the Lord Jesus Christ at the guidance of the Holy Spirit!

Wow! Wow! Wow! That we are blessed so greatly by the Lord, that we have the powerful Living God doing living works through us. Thanks be to Him!

This next study we will be exploring works and rewards that are given by the Lord for our efforts. We have learned already that the more we rid ourselves of ourselves and make room for the Lord, the more and stronger works can be accomplished. It is the movements of the LORD God, Lord Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit that makes the works of God through us. Sometimes, in rare cases, angels are also tasked with helping the job get done. When every LIVING WORK is accomplished, there is rejoicing in Heaven. It is that big of a deal!

Let us first quickly review what we have learned about the Mysteries of Trees so far (and remember that everything we have learned references Scripture). It all started with a verse in Mark 8:24, “And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.”

We learned that the Lord expected us to walk, and that trees had mysteries embedded within it throughout Scripture. If trees are our spiritual walking, then that is what we do spiritually. Right? So, in our spiritual walking, compared to the different parts of the tree, we can find out how to do spiritual works perfectly. And that is what our study has been about.

Mature Christians learn that “root” of a tree is the Foundation of Jesus Christ, and that the “vine” is Jesus Christ. The “branches” coming from that vine are identified as our efforts as Christians to do works that depended upon the Lord and Holy Spirit. He only allows the worthy growth of branches that conform to God’s will as He prunes back those unworthy. We learn that “leaves” come upon the branches that show flourishing and provisions made by God to produce works. Now we study “fruits” that are the final product, the intended goals of God to establish a purposeful work on this earth.

Rewards for Fruits

Living Works – Fruits created by Christian with spiritual life as a tree, with roots of the foundation of Christ, with flourishing branches guided by the vine of Jesus Christ.

Dead Works – Acts performed by the evil, worldly, carnal, lost, and those with iniquities that are without God and life and void of the spiritual life of trees.

Vessel – Contains the fruits which are the works created by a Christian who has a foundation (roots) built on Christ and a flourishing branch guided by His vine.

Fruits – Works created by the Christian through Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit with the spiritual life as a walking tree.

Review:

Concept #1 – If you are a sinner without grace, no amount of good works will be rewarded.

Concept #8 – If impurity is present throughout your works, you will have stubble, hay or wood which will quickly be burnt away. You will suffer loss.

Concept #9 – If no impurity is present throughout your works, you will have gold, silver, or precious stones. You will be rewarded.

Concept #10 – If your works are pure and complete and under the direction of the LORD God, the Lord Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit, the fire will reveal gold.

Concept #11 – It is very, very good if your works are classified as “gold”. You will

receive great reward.

As we mature as Christians, we find ourselves fitting into a very specific place in a very specific way in the Kingdom of God, and we learn about the spiritual lives of others that surround us in our Church led by Christ with each of us having a “path” to walk upon.

As we learn to walk expertly as trees walking with Christ, we are developed by the Lord to our full potential. We give up more and more of ourselves and get out of the way of the Holy Spirit as He creates the living works. Knowing our places spiritually walking in the Kingdom of God is an exciting step that grounds us and encourages us to improve our walking even more!

Mark 8:22–26 (KJV 1900)

The Mysteries of Trees – Leaves

Welcome my diligent students! When we first met together, we studied about faith, which can only be gotten through the grace of God bestowing it upon us. There is nothing we can do that brings God’s gift to us, through our Christ Jesus. Then we moved on to study the Mysteries of the Trees. Remember that this study is NOT about faith, but rather, it is about WORKS.

Faith is something you believe.

Works is something you do.

And the mysteries of the trees are given to you to understand the fullness of works and the expectations of your Lord. Leaves are one part of that mystery, and we will gain great insight into the Lord’s will as we study them together.

Matthew 21:18–19 (KJV 1900)

18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. 19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

1. Leaves on a tree do not necessarily mean that it will fruit.

2. If a tree does not produce fruits, it will wither away.

3. The Lord Jesus Christ did not curse the tree to wither it. The Lord Jesus Christ cursed the tree to “Let no fruit grow on these henceforward for ever.” This shows the significance of producing fruit that are standing in the midst of Christ. And it shows the insignificance of leaves only, without the fruit.

Mark 11:13–14 (KJV 1900)

13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Mark 11:20–23 (KJV 1900)

20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

4. When the Lord Jesus Christ saw the fig tree from afar, he observed the leaves, and had hope that possibly fruit was upon it.

5. The fig fruit had not grown upon the tree because it was not in its timing.

6. The disciples of Jesus Christ audibly heard his curse. There was no doubt that Jesus was unhappy because fruit was not upon the tree to feed Him and satisfy His hunger.

7. The next day after the curse, the fig tree dried up from the roots. Our study has led us to know that roots are the foundation upon which the tree grows.

8. When Peter asked about the curse causing the fig tree to wither away, the Lord used that example of the importance of faith in God to accomplish works, no matter how big a project.

We had put a large half-acre garden in to feed our kids. Everything was growing beautifully and fruiting in its time. The tomatoes had huge fruits on them. But we noticed one day that the leaves were dying. The plants had been doing so well, and were watered daily, and the dirt seemed good. The next day, we found all the plant leaves had completely withered away, and most disappeared. So, we had plants that showed their branches, no leaves, and big green tomatoes hanging from the drooping branches. By the next day, the tomatoes had begun withering and soon shrunk into wrinkled dead fruit because there were no leaves on the plants. Since a tomato plant grows tomatoes, and the dying leaves withered it, it seems it had no endurance to survive.

We come to the LORD God through His promise of salvation for those that embrace the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. That is FAITH; The LORD God gives the amount of faith He chooses. There is nothing we can do outside His Word.

However, our WORKS are also measured by the LORD God. We choose to give our lives to Him, to be guided by Him into doing the things He wills. Those that release their personal doings and depend upon God to guide their works have a great reason to survive and continue.

Those Christians that fail to do or consider works as directed by Him often wither. When their leaves cease, so does their fruiting.

Leaves are the part of the tree (spiritual life creating living works) that shows how it is flourishing. More importantly, leaves show the PREPERATION that God is making for the coming events of living works. If the branches (Christian) are bare after spring thaw, and no leaves by the beginning of summer, it is not flourishing, but rather, withering.

If it is not connected to the vine of Christ, it does not live. If it withers, there will be no fruit (living works).

Flourish means healthy. It is the rapid development, that is so alive with potential, fruits are assured. The Lord Jesus Christ expected the development of fruit by observing the leaves as they flourished; when the fig tree did not have fruit according to His timing, he cursed it. The potential of the tree was not the flourishing leaves; the leaves flourished so the fruit could grow (living works).

Let us consider that potential for a moment. It is a fact that when Christians begin doing spiritual works as branches of the spiritual life, that is rooted in the Doctrine of Christ and fed by His vine, we experience a supernatural something that is happening through us that we have not experienced in normal life. Things of Christ’s will develop quickly, as Christians are provided with all the tools and knowledge, they need to carry out the living works in His timing.

Sadly, confused Christians look at the “flourishing” of the leaves, and think that it is wealth, popularity, worldly desires, good clothes, and self-achievement, that develops so the works can be completed. That usually never happens in the real spiritual life of Christians.

The leaves that flourish in a working Christian’s life are often things like helpers, specific monies dedicated to very specific items, a movement of the Holy Spirit that increases the knowledge of the worker, faster timing than would be accomplished by a mere human, increased feelings of blessings that seem to surround the project, successful events that build-up to the works, a deeper understanding of the Word of God as situations develop, and the Christian is equipped with the next path to take.

Participants in the development of a communal work will see each other dedicated to the fruit, and not to the leaves. They are attentive to God’s will, and not worried about the comforts of life to themselves. Remember: The LORD God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit move quickly and allow the preparatory works to flourish so the works can prosper.

One of the specific areas that I teach all Christian students, is the handling of money, donations, and real property that comes into their hands during this flourishing time. You are given that money to accomplish a very specific task for the purpose of developing a specific work for the Lord. If the Lord gives you new resources, you should spend every cent that is given for that specific work. He will not give you one cent more than you need to accomplish the very specific work.

Now, you are going to see a lot of Christian ministries argue with me on this point. They are going to say that God wants me to be rich and successful and powerful, and that His grace will bless me as I work for Him. That is not true. There is no Biblical support for this. Instead, we see that it angers the Lord Jesus Christ greatly when leaves “flourish” greatly upon a tree, but do not produce any fruit in His timing or will. If leaves flourish, you can be assured that every bit of that flourishing is to be attached to the new works that will soon grow.

Mark 13:28–29 (KJV 1900)

28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

9. When the fig tree puts on leaves, we know that summer is near.

10. When summer comes, the fruit should begin fruiting according to the expectations of our Lord in Matthew 21:18-19 and Mark 11:13-14.

11. The branch is tender when leaves begin growing.

12. “Tender” means soft and ready to sprout.

13. When the fig tree branches are sprouting branches and leaves, we recognize the season of summer is near.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

14. The Lord wants us to recognize the time of His coming through our observations of the signs of the time, through witness of the tribulation, sun darkening, moon not giving light, stars falling from heaven, and powers of the heavens shaken. When the sign of the Son of man is in heaven, and tribes of the earth mourn, the Son of man will come in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Come Lord Jesus, quickly!)

15. And when He comes, He will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect.

16. These events are timed by the LORD God, and no man can give you the date it will happen. Christ’s return to the earth timing is Top Secret. No one knows!

17. But Christ tells us that if we watch the season unfold, we should be able to recognize as signs He spoke about in Matthew 24, just as we watch the signs of the fig tree leaf in preparation for the fruit to grow in the summer.

Many strong Christians and Christian leaders are anxiously awaiting prophesized events in Jerusalem, to fully be able to declare with strong belief that the Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is soon. Certainly, in our generation, many of the signs of the times spoken in Matthew 24 have happened. The events in Israel, give promise that just maybe we will be a witness of the Coming of the Lord in our generation!

Certainly, we wait for Him, a bit impatiently, and many pray that He come quickly. Things are getting tough in life, and the world is rumbling. The strongest Facebook Christians are proclaiming the signs and working harder and faster to spread the Gospel of Christ.

We cannot know the exact date, but we can recognize the times, just as we recognize the times of the fruits of the fig tree developing through the appearance of the leaves on its tender branches. It is time for your faith to be solidly formed, your knowledge to be increased, and your spirit to soar with the Holy Spirit’s guidance. It is time to make certain you are strong and walking toward the LORD God, with the Lord Jesus Christ through the dedicated study of the inerrant Word of God. It is time to increase your efforts at witnessing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As soon as that works is completed, the Lord Jesus can come back! Get to work! Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Let us think upon the vine that grows from trees, with runners that connect other foundations, trees, and locations. Jesus Christ is that Vine, and He is continually making connections for His ministry. As branches, we mature Christians pick up signals from the Vine, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit within us, and begin to grow our branches strong from the Vine of Christ. When it is a new work, especially, we might start a few branches as we determine the direction that the LORD God would have us move.

I was brought to Facebook a few years ago. I did not know why. Immediately, I saw the brilliant ministries of many, and the confused ministries of some.

I begin praying. I started several branches. One branch connected to the other growing ministries. One branch was starting to grow toward the false ministries and try to shut them down. One branch was growing toward helping in the cause of the hungry, orphans and widows. One branch was making friendships on Messenger so I could know people in depth. One branch was giving small Bible Lessons to

mature Christians.

Immediately, many of the branches were taken away by the LORD God. The Holy Spirit within me kept saying to me “STAY IN YOUR LANE.” This was spoken by my close family and friends in my personal life, friends in Facebook, and whispered strongly to me every time I prayed. Soon, a very strong branch began producing fruits when I moved to teaching detailed, deep Bible Studies to mature Christians on Facebook. Any unneeded “stuff” that gathers on that strong branch with many fruits will be purged; the “stuff” will be removed by the LORD God, so the full growth of the fruit can happen. I am in my lane and They are in Their lanes as we work together in the Mysteries of the Trees.

The same type of experience in the growth of branches and fruit is happening to many Facebook ministries today. The vine of Christ is running in the midst of all of His true ministries. It is evident that many of these ministries have strong branches and fruit growing. It is also very evident that many strong ministries are joined together by that vine, as each of us stay in our own lane, and do what we do best. Those blessed by the Lord to receive His Mysteries of His Tree should see an increase of fruits growing from their branches, as these teachings are applied to their ministry.

What exciting times we live in! How honored I am to be a part of the big ministry effort in Facebook! Stay in your lanes and apply the new teachings of God to bring forth stronger branches and many fruits!

SPOILERS! The olive tree represents the covenant nation of Israel. The wild olive tree

represents the Gentiles. When the Gentiles are grafted into the natural olive tree, they have become Christians through their faith in the salvation and walk with Christ. Though many Jews have fallen away because they were unable to keep the law and made blind and deaf by the LORD God for a while, there still are spiritually enlightened Jews of the covenant with the LORD God.

We, as Christians are grafted into that tree. Christians are warned not to get proud and haughty, lest the same pruning happen to us as did the disobedient Jews. And it is important to note that the original olive tree is still holy, with firstfruits, lump, roots, tree, and that holiness transfers to Christians anointed with the spiritual enlightenment of the olive tree.

The remnant of law-abiding Jews, still under the covenant with the LORD God, are holy. It is their roots that make grafted Christians’ holy, not the other way around. Christians should never be lording it over the Jews, for it is the obedient Jewish olive tree that shared their holiness with us.

Ok, my precious students. End Times things are always overwhelming and sometimes confusing. But I want you to take a breath and realize one thing. This dramatic entrance of our Lord Jesus Christ, accompanied by the elect in Heaven, will arrive at the sound of trumpets after Tribulation.

The fig tree has been chosen to signal the coming of these events by our Lord. Will the faithful Church of Christ be present for the Tribulation? Or the three and a half years of it? Or the full of it? We will study that much later.

Right now, we must focus upon the fig tree that will be a key component for His people to see that Tribulation is soon at hand. What does the fig tree represent? We will discover that later in our full examination of the trees. But, right now, let’s look at what evidence we can gain by studying the branch of the fig tree from this verse.

When we keep it simple and study exactly what the Word of God tells us, sometimes we can at least gain a sense of the difficult passages. I suggest to you that if Christ is speaking of the other events in End Times, they will be easily recognizable and not require our knowing to survive. The only time that we would need to discern is the Time of Tribulation. Therefore, just as we predict summer by the coming of the tender branch and leaves, so we can predict the Time of Tribulation as Christ’s End Times.

So, before Tribulation comes, it will be like the Fig Tree with tender branches and growing leaves as it does in the Summer. We will study it in detail with the other trees in the future. But when the fig tree is at its summer growth stage, the Tribulation will happen. It’s not during the winter growth stage where everything is hibernated and not growing, nor in the spring when the tree begins anew. Right in the middle of the growth stage to prepare for fruits, Tribulation will arrive.

Let’s put it in simple terms! I pray that me, and my house, and my students, and my friends, and my family, that are committed to following Jesus Christ, will be working, and trying to produce Holy Spirit works right to the time of Tribulation. Everyone say Amen because that is what we are doing right now!

Facebook ministry, local churches, and dedicated institutions are working hard, every day, to grow the fruits. The signs seem ominously close that Tribulation might be at hand; so, we work harder and harder to produce the fruits that bring glory to the Father in Heaven.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Great care must be taken that typological concepts are only defined by the Word of God. It is best if you find a righteous, mature, truthful, scholarly, Holy Spirit-filled Bible Teacher to confirm your ideas to assign meaning to symbols. So far in this study, we have been extremely blessed that the Lord Jesus Christ tells us exactly what the meanings are. As our studies progress, we will be required to combine several Scriptures to fully understand the symbology and typology. If you do not proceed with caution, you can do terrible wrongs in your

interpretation and go as far as to change God’s Word.

Here is an example. Christ told us Himself that Christians were branches. And we can depend upon that definition throughout the New Testament when the Word speaks of works. But in the Old Testament, Daniel identifies branches in an interpretation of dreams as “three days.” (Genesis 40:12) Now a skilled scholar that is blessed with the Mysteries of the LORD God would more than likely be able to connect Old Testament and New Testament symbols, sometimes. But unskilled

readers of the Word of God could easily become confused.

My goal as your Bible Teacher is to show you the Mysteries of God through His Word, so you can grow your ministry for more fruits, and perfect your Christian Walk. Perhaps some of you are interested in studying in detail the hidden Word of God. That should be put aside for a later date as you begin to start learning new things of God. First, let me and the Word of God lead you until you have received what He wills.

What is the Typology for Trees?

Consider the deeply defined Greek word that designates the word “tree” spoken about in Mark 8:22-26. Sometimes, English words do NOT reflect the full meaning of the Greek word for tree:

1. When the partially healed blind man said “I see men as trees, walking” the trees he observed were FRUIT PRODUCING TREES. This fact is extremely important throughout our study of trees.

2. Those belonging to the LORD God are NOT tree standing still and silent. They PRODUCE FRUITS! That is the exact nature of all the Lord’s people who are walking with Him

3. There is even more meaning to the Greek word for “tree” spoken in Mark 8:22-26. RIGHT HAND = POWER! That is a typology definition throughout Scripture! Always! For instance, to be at the right hand of the LORD God indicates that the Lord Jesus Christ wields HIS POWER! (Mark 16:19) (Teacher note: For a side-trip deep Bible Study, find “right hand” throughout Scripture, and see the power of the right hand reflected!)

4. Why is the right hand of power connected to the Greek word for fruit tree in Scripture? I don’t know. However, the meanings of both words, “fruit tree” and “right-hand power” are connected fully in the Greek language in original Scripture manuscripts. The words are that important to Greek meaning, that the connection was made to reflect the full meaning together.

5. Walking fruit-trees were observed by the partially healed blind man in Mark 8:22-26, and those moving trees were filled the POWER OF THE LORD!

The next typology we will study in Scripture is the verb “walking.” When the blind man was partially healed, he saw men as trees, WALKING. It is a crucial word in that vision, and typological examination is necessary to fully understand the deep message that the Lord Jesus Christ wants us to know.

To Walk – 4344 περιπατέω (peripateō): vb.; ≡ DBLHebr 2143; Str 4043; TDNT 5.940—1. LN 15.227 walk (around), (Mt 4:18 (and so in the Gospels and Acts); 1Pe 5:8; Rev 3:4; 9:20; 16:15; Mk 16:12 v.r.); 2. The Greek word definition “to walk” is like our English word. Of course, it means to propel oneself and move with legs. But there is another meaning that represents to live and conduct one’s life, and the New Testament uses both these meanings throughout (See Strong’s definition).

Romans 6:1–6 (KJV 1900)

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

1. Baptized followers of Christ are dead to sin and do NOT live in sin from the moment of their Baptism forward.

2. Baptized followers of Christ die through their baptism because they go to the Baptismal grave of Christ’s death.

3. Baptized followers of Christ are raised up from the dead through the glory of the Father LORD God when they ascend from the Baptismal waters.

4. Baptized followers of Christ arise in the likeness of Christ’s resurrection, and from that point on, WALK in the NEWNESS OF LIFE.

5. Baptized followers of Christ are dead to sin, resurrected to NEW LIFE, and WALK! They cannot walk until they are free of sin and should NOT serve sin again!

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ and Baptized in Christ’s Baptism, then you WALK in a new life. Until you have had the control of original sin removed from your life through your death in Baptism, you can NOT walk! It is only after Baptism that the hold of sin is released, that you can stand upon your legs and walk with Christ.

Our study of deeply interpreting the vision of the blind man with his eyesight restored partially, “I see men as trees, walking,” has already revealed to us the depth of meaning of “blindness” and the spiritual definition of “men” in Scripture.

Now our Scripture study of the deep spiritual meaning of “walk” is formed from the literal and typological study of Romans 6:1-6. It is quite clear, right?

Walking is accomplished by Baptized followers of Jesus Christ, created in God’s Image, and free from sin!

While there are many recorded events of “walking” followers of the LORD God in the Old Testament, our concerns for “walking” should rest solidly in the revealed New Testament Gospels of Christ at the beginning of this study. It is our primary concern as receivers of the LORD God’s Grace of Salvation through Christ.

This study will proceed to examine both Old Testament and New Testament revelations concerning the act of walking to fully equip with us with deep understanding. However, I encourage you to record the primary, identifying typology of walking in your typology notes as #1 in your record-keeping. We will add to the knowledge as we progress.

How is walking related to the elimination of sin through forgiveness by Christ?

It is all centered around the healing of “palsy” by Christ that is recorded in Scripture. That is the mysterious revelation of this particular type of condition that is critical for our full understanding of “walking.”

The Greek word for “palsy” means paralysis or lameness that prevents WALKING! :

Palsy – 4166 παραλυτικός (paralytikos), ή (ē), όν (on): adj. [see παραλυτικός (paralytikos), οῦ (ou), ὁ (ho), just below]; ≡ Str 3885—LN 23.171 paralyzed (Mt 4:24; 8:6+ note: others see these verses as the next lexical entry)

The healed of “palsy” could NOT walk until Lord Jesus Christ healed them. Those crippled with “palsy” in the miracle healings of Christ recorded in the Gospels, were done for a very specific reason. Every time. Search for the EXACT reason that Christ healed the “palsy” in these three accounts:

Matthew 9:2–8 (KJV 1900)

2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

We recognize this is a significant miracle with a significant and specific meaning. Because it is recorded in Scripture multiple times, with the exact same reason given each time, you can believe with certainty that:

a. “Palsy” is a condition of sin.

b. People that are in the condition of original sin can NOT walk.

c. The Lord Jesus Christ has been given power upon earth to forgive sins by the LORD God.

d. When the Lord Jesus Christ forgives the sins of those that can NOT walk, the miracle of healing takes place, and the “palsy” CAN walk with Christ.

e. The partial restored eyesight of the blind man recorded in Mark 8:22-26, “I see men as trees, walking” designates that the vision was about men whose sins had been forgiven them by the Lord Jesus Christ, and they were WALKING!

So now we know three very important typologies that will reveal the deeper meaning of “I see men as trees, walking!”

1. We know the condition of “spiritual blindness” cannot be restored or given eyesight without the touch and will of the LORD God.

2. We know the “Men” spoken about in the Gospels designate “Men and Women that are created purposely (after the pattern of evolution) by the LORD God with His breath breathed into them to make them living beings from His essence”

3. We know that “Men” cannot WALK when they are sinners. We know the Lord Jesus Christ was given “the power on earth to forgive sins” by the LORD God. And we know that when Christ heals someone of their sinfulness through His forgiveness of their sins, that they are healed of “palsy” and Baptized through Christ, are able to WALK.

Galatians 2:14 (KJV 1900)

14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

6. To walk uprightly in Christ, it must be according to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

7. Uprightly – 41.36 ὀρθοποδέω: to live a life of moral correctness—‘to live right, to live as one ought to.’ ὅτε εἶδον ὅτι οὐκ ὀρθοποδοῦσιν πρὸς τὴν ἀλήθειαν ‘when I saw that they were not living right, in conformity with the truth’ Ga 2:14. ὀρθοποδέω may be translated in a number of languages as ‘to live as one should.’

Teachings of Kathy L McFarland:

Walking UPRIGHT is the key to Christian walking that is deeply reflected within Scripture. Spiritually speaking, The “life of moral correctness” is connected completely with the deep meaning of “trees” within Scripture.

Though the obedient Jews walk in their laws and are created by the breath of the LORD God, they do NOT walk UPRIGHT, because they are NOT able to walk according to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because of their partial blindness.

Also understand that those that are IN SIN, whether Christian or with the breath of God inside them, do NOT walk with the Lord Jesus Christ and run the risk of being overcome with the condition of palsy.

The next lesson about trees will introduce the concept that the tree is typologically and figurative with “spiritual living.” As our study advances, we will learn of the different trees mentioned in Scripture which connect to a myriad of spiritual lives that are given to us by God to navigate our living, always guided by Christ’s teachings and the movement and of the Holy Spirit.

We have one more general typology to discover, before we move on to the most exciting parts of our study. It is the revelations of the Spiritual Trees that will open our understanding of ourselves and our Christian fellowship in the Kingdom of God, and forever change our relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ!

Let’s get started by studying the general idea of trees first, and then move on to the depth of the roots those trees to see what is hidden from casual readers of Scripture.

The next typology we will be discovering is the typological identity of man/men as recorded in Scripture, especially concerning supernatural events that reveal the depth of meaning from God’s Word and Movement. This study of “men” is necessary to fully understand the deep, supernatural, typological mystery revealed by the partially healed blind man when he looks up and says, “I see MEN as trees, walking.”

The act of creating MEN by the LORD God at the time of His Creation of all things, identifies fully the difference between the evolved human and beasts and the created MEN by the LORD God using the pattern of evolution, but inserting His breath within the purposely formed man created in His Image.

Lesson 13: The Evolution and Making of Natural Life Common Man and the Creation of Spirit Filled Man in the Likeness of the LORD God

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. (Genesis 1:20-23 AV)

578. On the fifth day, the LORD God instructed the waters to bring forth moving creatures and fowl that have life. As we now can confirm through scientific studies, an evolution of animal and fowl life came from the water long ago. Both Scripture and science are agreement with this fact. What science fails to acknowledge, however, is that the evolution of animal life from the waters would not have occurred if the LORD God had not first given permission for this to happen. This permission is His creation principle that allowed the mist causing the herbs and plants of the field to grow. Evolution from the waters is the way the LORD God chose to create animal life, by allowing the natural and ordered occurrences of law of nature to exist.

579. When the LORD God allowed the waters to bring forth life, He established two types of evolution to occur. One evolution was for the things that are in the seas as moving creatures, and another evolution of fowl that would fly above the earth. The evolution plan was developed in accordance with the LORD God’s Will. It was His direction which established the model for the evolution of life on his new earth. Notice how Scripture does not declare that “God saw it was good” at the end of the fifth day? He had more plans for the creation of living creatures, and these plans did not end with the evolution of animals and fowls from His precious waters.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. (Genesis 1:24 AV)

580. The LORD God instructed one other type of evolution to occur. This evolution was to come from the earth and bring forth the living creatures after their kind. The evolution of the moving creatures of the seas and the fowls of the air had already progressed from the fifth day of creation. The natural progression of the development of life occurred when the living creatures were allowed to develop outside the waters and evolve on the earth. This evolution principle that the LORD God developed allowed for there to be three types of life.

1. Moving Creatures evolved from the sea to live in the sea

2. Fowl evolved from the sea to fly in the air and live on earth

3. Living Creatures, first evolved from sea, then evolved from earth, to live on the earth.

581. The LORD God instructed that three types of living creatures evolve from the earth. These three types of creatures were:

1. Cattle

2. Creeping thing

3. Beast

This concludes the evolution phase of the LORD God’s Creation.

The evolution of the moving creatures, fowl and living creatures evolved to the point that the LORD God Willed. The evolution continued to the point of the cattle, creeping things and beast becoming alive as a result.

The LORD God still did not declare the evolution “good” and was not finished with the creation of life. Henceforth, all creation will come from His own active Work.

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:25 AV)

582. At some point on the sixth day of Creation, the LORD God moved from allowing evolution of life, to actively participating in the Creation of Life. The earth had already brought forth the three types of life, when the LORD God began making the beast of the earth, the cattle and the creepers after the same pattern that was established from their evolution. This pattern established the beast as wild, cattle as tamed beasts that gathered in groups, and everything that creeps upon the earth, in swarms.

At this point we have two different groups of the three types of life on earth.

Evolved from the Earth Created by the LORD God

1. beast (wild and singular) 1. beast

2. cattle (a gathering of beasts tamed) 2. cattle

3. creepers (rapid and swarming) 3. creepers

583. After the LORD God had created three types of life with His own hands after the pattern of evolution, He was well pleased and saw that it was good.

What is the Typology for “cattle”, “beasts” and “creepers ” in the Word of God?

Prophesy of the LORD God is always rich in typology because it is given to only specific people of the LORD God to understand. Many words in the Word of God have meaning far beyond what is understood by common people of the world. Ezekiel 34:1-31 defines cattle, beasts, flocks and shepherds in detail, and gives Christians the ability to understand the deeper mysteries of the LORD God’s Creation. We will first examine Ezekiel 34 in it’s entirety to understand the context of all of the Words contained within. Once this scripture is read in its entirety, we will begin to break it down in simple statements of fact that are easily followed and understood. Finally, we will combine the facts in categories, to make the newly learned mysteries easily absorbed. Once our study of Ezekiel 34 is completed, we will reference several other Scripture to further enlighten your understanding of cattle, beasts, creepers and flocks. We will then return to our study of Evolution and Creation with a greater understanding of the mysteries of the LORD God.

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks? Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them. For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats. Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet? And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet. Therefore thus saith the Lord God unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle. Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad; Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle. And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid. And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God. And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God. (Ezekiel 34:1-31 AV)

Ezekiel 34:1-31 analyzed verse-by-verse:

1 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

584. The LORD God established shepherd in Israel to feed His flocks. “Flocks” is typology for the people of the LORD God gathered together. “Shepherds” is typology for the leader of the LORD God’s people. (If you need proof of this fact, you can jump ahead to Eze 34:30-31 to verify.)

3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

585. The shepherds of Israel were given great rewards as a result of their position as leaders of the LORD God’s people. They received the choicest parts of all things given to His people and they were clothed in honor of their elevated position.

4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

586. The shepherds of Israel were given the tasks to care for the LORD God’s people by strengthening the diseased, healing the sick, binding the broken, bringing back those who had been driven away, and looking for those who had become lost.

587. The shepherds of Israel failed to accomplish the tasks set forth by the LORD God, and instead ruled the LORD God’s people with force and cruelty, thus, the prophesy was directed to them.

5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

588. The people of the LORD God were scattered because there was no shepherd to lead them.

589. When the people of the LORD God became scattered, they were devoured by the beasts of the field. There are many typological facts that can be discerned logically from this passage:

1)”Beasts” are not the LORD God’s people.

2)”Beasts” are of the “field”.

3)”Beasts” are able to devour the LORD God’s people when they come to the beasts’ dwelling places.

4) When the LORD God’s people are scattered without a leader, they become prey to the “beasts”.

5)”Fields” are not the dwelling place of “flocks” of the LORD God’s people.

6)Though the LORD God’s people may be led through the “fields” by a shepherd, the land belongs to the “beasts”, and

7)When the LORD God’s people are scattered without a leader, they become instant fodder for the beasts of the field.

6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

590. “Sheep” are of the “flocks” are the people who belong to the LORD God.

591. When people of the LORD God are scattered without a leader, they wander through the mountains and high hills. Notice the location where God’s people go when they are without a leader. They do not stay in the fields, but desperately go to the high mountains and hills to be closer to the LORD God, and avoid the predatory beasts that wait to devour them in the fields.

592. “Face of the earth” is another name for “fields”, and is defined both specifically and typologically as the “common ground of the world”. As a result of this passage, we learn that the dwelling place of “beasts” is the “common ground of the world”. Therefore, we can surmise several facts:

“Beasts”

1. Represent men who do not belong to the LORD God.

2. Men who do not belong to the LORD God dwell on the common ground of the world.

“Sheep”

1. The LORD God’s people become scattered without a leader.

2. When they are scattered, they still gravitate toward the high mountains and hills to be as close to the LORD God as they can, and as far away from the world and the men of nature who dwell there.

TERM NOTES:

1. The word “Natural Life” designates the life lived in the common ground of the world.

2. The word “Spiritual Life” designates the life lived by the LORD God’s people as they strive toward the Kingdom of God.

3. A common person of this world is a “beast of the field”, and is often referred to as a “person of nature” or a “natural person”.

4. A person belonging to the LORD God and the Kingdom of Heaven is a “sheep of His flock” and is often referred to as a “person of spirit” or “spiritual person”.

593. When the LORD God’s people became scattered, the shepherds of Israel did not search for the Jews, nor even care enough about the “flocks” disappearance to inquire about them. Thus, the LORD God delivered this prophetic message to Ezekiel.

7 ¶ Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; 8 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; 9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD; 10 Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.

594. The LORD God was very angry because:

1. The shepherds deserted their responsibilities to lead His people, resulting in their becoming prey to all of the natural people of the world.

2. The shepherds fed themselves the food that the LORD God had provided for the flocks and did not feed His people.

By this time, I hope that each of you are thinking deeply into the meanings of the Words used by the LORD God and have realized that the food given to the shepherds for distribution among the flocks is not just the literal meaning of the idea, but, representative typologically also. Spiritual food is provided by the LORD God to nourish the spirits of His People to provide both sustenance and growth. The shepherds were guilty of receiving all of the spiritual nourishment from God and keeping it to themselves for consumption. They failed to share His spiritual nourishment among the people, as the LORD God had provided for.

Therefore, the duties of a shepherd are to lead the LORD God’s people and feed them the spiritual nourishment provided by Him. If the shepherd keeps the spiritual nourishment for himself, he no longer is leading the people. If God’s people are not led by the shepherd, then they become scattered, and try to reach the LORD God on their own by going to the high mountains and hills for nourishment. All the while, the natural and common life of the world awaits God’s people’s walk into their world, so they can be devoured with the ferociousness of their beastly natures.

595. The LORD God punished the disobedient shepherds by removing them as leaders to His people and refusing them spiritual food as a result.

596. The LORD God delivered His people from the shepherd’s mouth, so they may not be “meat” for them. Notice how the LORD God’s people can become “meat” to not only the common men of this world, but also to the spiritual leaders who fail to lead them in accordance with the LORD God’s Will.

11 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. 13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

597. The LORD God promised to search out his scattered People as their Shepherd and deliver them out of all the places they had gone on the cloudy and dark day. Note the typological description of the time when the scattering of His people occurred: “cloudy and dark day”. This vivid description allows us to see the day as the LORD God interprets and is useful of understanding the depth of displeasure the LORD God is feeling.

598. The LORD God promised to bring His scattered people from all the countries and people they had gone to their own land.

599. The LORD God promised to feed His people in their land upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

The mountains of Israel are also described as “fat pasture”. The country is described as “good pasture” and “good fold”. “Rivers” are the running waters represent the influence and Spirit of God operating in man through grace, to regenerate, strengthen and refresh man’s spiritual (inward) and natural (outward) life experience. The LORD God promises to give His people rest and nourishment in both their natural and spiritual lives, in their own land.

15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. 16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

600. The LORD God promised to:

1. Feed His people

2. Cause them to rest

3. Seek them which were lost

4. Bring back those which were driven away

5. Bind up those which were broken

6. Strengthen those which were sick

7. Destroy those which were fat and strong with His Judgment

At the time of the LORD God’s prophecy through Ezekiel there was only one group of His People who were “fat” and “strong”. Those were the shepherds who had eaten all the spiritual food that was provided by the LORD God to be shared among His people. These leaders of God’s people took all of the nourishment for themselves, and as a result, became fat and strong.

The LORD God promised to bring the scattered people back to Him and nourish them back to health and peace in their own land, while at the same time, judging the errant shepherds disobedience and destroying them as a result.

17 ¶ And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats. 18 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet? 19 And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.

601. The members of the flock of the LORD God’s people are identified as “cattle”. The strongest among the flock are identified as “rams” and “he goats”.

602. The LORD God wanted to prevent the same errors of the shepherds from happening again. He stressed to the gathered people it was not a small thing to eat all the nourishment provided for themselves alone, without sharing among all of the people according to His Will. He stressed that it was wrong for the strongest of the flock to drink from the deep waters, foul the residue with their feet, and expect the rest to make do with dirtied leftovers.

20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle. 21 Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad; 22 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.

603. To enforce His Will, the LORD God instituted His Judgment of His flock, to prevent any one of His people seizing of the nourishment given to all, becoming strong, pushing the others around and preventing them from receiving the things given to them for spiritual food from the LORD God.

Note the typological name “cattle” as used in this Scripture, represents sheep and lambs, typologically defined as the LORD God’s people. ” Cattle” represents a member of the flock that pushes out to graze. Other names used for “cattle” in the LORD God’s Word are ewe, goat, lamb, and sheep. All these words designate the people belonging to the LORD God.

When you are studying Scripture, careful attention must be paid to the specific word usage with consideration to Hebrew and Greek translation. This is one of those case where if you are not careful, wrong interpretation to the LORD God’s Word can occur.

In Ezekiel 34, the word is translated as “cattle” in our English language. Strong’s Hebrew Lexicon number is #07716 and defines it as “a member of a flock, i.e. a sheep or goat” “probably through the idea of pushing out to graze”.

Yet in Genesis 1, the word is translated as “cattle” in our English language. Strong’s Hebrew Lexicon number is #0929 and defines it as “from an unused root (probably meaning to be mute); properly, a dumb beast; especially any large quadruped or animal (often collective): —beast, cattle. “

“Cattle” is also used to describe the ownership of livestock property in God’s Word and is represented by Strong’s Hebrew Lexicon #04735.

So, the use of the English word “cattle” in God’s Word has many different meanings in Hebrew. One meaning, as used in Ezekiel, speaks of the gathered flock of the LORD God’s people. One meaning, as used in Genesis, speaks of the gathered group of beasts tamed, representing the gathering of the common people of the world.

The best typological definition for the word “cattle” in God’s Word, then is this:

Cattle = A gathering of people. (The identity of the people must be determined through study of the Hebrew translation, which will reveal them to be either

#07716 LORD God’s people as sheep, or

#0929 common people of the world as gathered beasts tamed

#04735 slaves possessed as livestock property.

604. The LORD God identifies the two types of His strong people as “rams” and ” he goats” (verse 17) and promises to judge them according to their use of their strength (verse 18). Specifically, “rams” are the strong people of the LORD God, and “he goats” are the fully grown, mature leaders of the LORD God.

If the strong and the leaders of the LORD God’s people use their power to thrust, overpower, manhandle and take advantage of the spiritually weak, then the LORD God promises to judge them accordingly, and has in fact established Judgment to officially remove those who misuse the Spiritual nourishment given for all of God’s people.

605. The LORD God promises to save his flock from this type of leaders and strength in their midst and remove His sheep’s status as “prey” to be devoured.

23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

606. To prevent the misuse of the powerful shepherds of the past, the LORD God promises the establishment of one shepherd to lead all of His people. This prophecy refers to the promise of Jesus Christ given as shepherd for the LORD God’s people to feed them His Word.

25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. 26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

607. The LORD God promises that when His people are led by Jesus Christ, that He will:

1. Make a covenant of peace with His people

2. Make safe dwelling places in the wilderness and woods

3. Make them a blessing

4. Make the things around Jerusalem a blessing

5. Make showers of blessings to come in season

27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. 28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid. 29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

1. Tree of the field will yield her fruit

2. Earth will yield her increase

3. People of the LORD God will be safe in their land

4. All people of the LORD God will know Him

5. All people of the LORD God will recognize that he broke the bands of their yoke and delivered them out of the hands of the ones who used them.

6. Remove their status as prey to the heathen

7. Remove their status as food to be devoured by the common people of the world

8. Raise up a Plant of Renown

9. Remove hunger in the land

10. Remove the bearing of the shame of the heathen

Verse 25, 26, 27 are rich with typology and prophecy of events happening at the establishment of the New Earth. We are not going to delve any further into this presently, because we must stay focused on the Creation of this first earth. Future Becker Bible Studies will analyze the prophesy aspects of these Scriptures much deeper in another study.

There are some deep revelations that have been revealed to you in this brief study:

Rams are spiritually strong people belonging to the LORD God’s flock.

He Goats are spiritually mature leaders of the LORD God’s flock and one of His people.

The sheep and the goats will be judged by the LORD God. This judgment is for the flock of Israel, and He will weigh the fatness and leanness of each, in accordance with the provisions He gave to them. The sheep and goat judgment is not for Christians nor for worldly people of nature; it is for the House of Israel who is left on the earth until Judgment Day.

Let’s move on:

30 Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God. 31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God. (Ezekiel 34:1-31 AV)

608. The flock of the LORD God’s pasture are MEN. (If we have totally missed the typological references in Ezekiel, the LORD God assures our deep understanding by revealing the key point to the whole thing, so Christians might know the deepness that He Wills.)

Men are NOT common male individuals that live in the world.

Men are NOT common people that live in the world.

Men are people of the LORD God who are a part of His flock and purposely created in His Image.

NEW TYPOLOGY learned through the study of Ezekiel 34:1-31

Earth – Common and natural ground of the world

Field – Wild and worldly, natural life, dwelling place

Mountains and high hills – Closer to the dwelling place of the LORD God

Beasts – People of the world that are wild, spread out and unaccountable to a group

Sheep – The LORD God’s people

Shepherd – The leader of the flock of LORD God’s people

Flock – A gathering of the LORD God’s people as sheep

One other group of evolution and creation has not yet been discussed. The “Creepers” or as the Word of God says “everything that creepeth upon the earth”:

41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. 42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

43 ¶ Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. 44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. 46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: 47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten. (Leviticus 11:41-47 AV)

609. Everything that creeps upon the earth is an abomination. Things that creep are classified as life that swarms, breeds abundantly and moves.

To be an abomination means that it is life that is filthy, worships idols, disgusting and detestable.

610. Things that go upon the belly are things that creep. This Hebrew usage of the word for “belly” indicates the womb of a fetus, as opposed to the stomach for food. This highly symbolic word choice describes a life that embraces the natural world so tightly, that the process of procreation and multiplication of their species, is directly related to their close relationship to nature of the world, rather than the spiritual world of the Kingdom of God.

Remember our Chapter 1 study, fact #33…

“33. The inhabitants of earth are like grasshoppers. Grasshoppers are another name for locusts. Locusts are another name for

Gentiles. Gentiles are another name for Heathens. Heathens are people who do not belong to the LORD God. These people of the earth that do not belong to the LORD God are insignificant and less than nothing to Him.”

Are you seeing the connection here? Things that creep are descriptive of the life that is filthy, dirty, idolatrous, abominable, and relating closely to the natural life of the world.

One type of creeper is the life of locusts, which is another name for Gentiles. Gentiles are people of the earth that do not belong to the LORD God and are insignificant, and less than nothing to Him.

611. The LORD God instructs His people to avoid all contact with the unclean, defiled, abominable creeping life.

612. Association with this type of life will cause the LORD God’s people to be defiled and lose their holiness.

613. To be one of the LORD God’s people, means that you must be holy as He is.

614. Creeping things are not holy, and not His people.

615. The LORD God created all life with many different processes and established appropriate laws of existence for each group of life. These different groups were chosen to be separate, specifically by the LORD God.

These different creations of life have different ways of life. The lustful, sexual deviant, pornography world of the dirty creepers who worship natural things contrasts sharply with the holy, righteous, and protected life of sheep led by the Good Shepherd toward the Kingdom of God. Each life has its laws, and each life has its ways, and should stay within its own boundaries, to preserve the

Creations as the LORD God Wills.

We’ve gained a new understanding of many new typological terms, and now we’re ready for the new revelations of the LORD God to be received, as we apply the newly learned terms to the account of His Creation of MAN.

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:25 AV)

(582.) At some point on the sixth day of Creation, the LORD God moved from allowing evolution of life, to actively participating in the Creation of Life. The earth had already brought forth the three types of life, when the LORD God began making the beast of the earth, the cattle and the creepers after the same pattern that was established from their evolution. This pattern established the beast as wild, cattle as tamed beasts that gathered in groups, and everything that creeps upon the earth, in swarms.

At this point we have two different groups of the three types of life on earth.

Evolution has occurred by this time, and the beast, cattle and creepers have formed according to the Will of the LORD God. He examined the pattern of evolution and chose to create life in the pattern that had developed through the years of Creation.

Thus, He created peoples of the world, wild ones, common ones, abominable ones, always using the pattern of evolution to conform to His Laws of Creation.

When this act of creating through the pattern of evolution was completed, He was not yet pleased with the results. It is at that moment, that the LORD God chose to create man in His Image, after His own likeness!

MAN CREATED BY THE LORD GOD IN HIS IMAGE!

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7 AV)

616. The LORD God directs His Spirits and His only begotten Son to make a man in their image and likeness.

617. The created man was made in the LORD God’s image, to have dominion over all other forms of life, both evolved, and created after the pattern of evolution. To have dominion over other life means to reign, rule, and subjugate. This means that the life created by the LORD God in His Image is a superior life form, having authority over all other life forms.

618. The LORD God created both the male and female life in His image.

619. The LORD God created life in his Image by forming man of the dust of the ground and breathing into his nostrils the breath of life. As a result of the actual breath of the LORD God entering into His Creation, the man became a living soul. This living soul was not given to evolved creatures, it was not given to the life created through the pattern of evolution which resulted in common, wild, and defiled people. The living soul was given to one type of Creation, and that was given to the life created by the LORD God in HIS OWN IMAGE!

620. The LORD God blessed the life created in His image.

621. The LORD God instructed His Created Life to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it.

622. The LORD God made provisions to grow on the earth to provide for both their natural (herbs) and spiritual lives (trees), works (fruit) and perpetual increase (seed).

623. The LORD God gave the provisions of green (fresh) herbs to support the other forms of life (evolved and created in the pattern of evolution) in their natural life. Note how they were not given spiritual lives, spiritual works, or the provisions of perpetual increase for spirituality.

624. After life had evolved through the LORD God’s permission, and after He created life after the pattern of evolution and finally, had created Man in His Own Image with a living soul, He was very pleased. Thus ended His Sixth Day of Creation.

TREES – I See Men as Trees Walking – BLIND (Lesson 2)

Mark 8:22–26 (KJV 1900)

22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

1. The Lord Jesus Christ went to the town of Bethsaida.

2. A blind man was brought to him and asked that the Lord Jesus Christ touch him.

3. Jesus led the blind man out of the town.

4. Jesus spit on the blind man’s eyes.

5. Jesus put his hands upon him.

6. Then Jesus asked if the blind man saw anything.

7. The blind man did see something! But it was NOT fully restored eyesight. Instead, he said “I see men as trees, walking.”

8. Jesus put His hands upon his eyes again.

9. The Lord made him look up.

10. His eyesight was restored, and he saw every man clearly.

11. Christ sent him away to his house and said “Neither go into the town nor tell it to any in the town.”

“I see men as trees walking” is the report of the blind man partially healed. The Lord Jesus Christ knew exactly what the blind man would see when He placed His spit and hands upon the eyes. Christ wanted you to know what that blind man saw at first, and He asked him specifically, so that special view was known.

Throughout Christ’s teachings, typology is present, with deeper meanings expressed amid literal words. There is a literal meaning that is always God’s Truth, and there is a deeper meaning that is always God’s Truth, throughout Scripture.

The literal meaning, the Foundation of Jesus Christ, and the Foundation of God’s Word are fully Truth. Scripture is INERRANT, without mistake! Literal meanings are to be known and understood by every Christian that follows the Lord. Babes in Christ and children in Christ study the Bible to know these literal meanings.

However, the Lord Jesus Christ has prepared His Word perfectly to reveal the deeper mysteries of the Word of God to His mature followers. These mature followers have had the full foundation of Jesus Christ laid, and they have matured in faith to the point of being able to receive these deeper teachings with the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

Typology is difficult and dangerous if the Bible Teacher is NOT using SCRIPTURE ALONE to define meaning. Typology Should NEVER be attempted by a new student of typology, and NEVER without guidance and affirmation and correction by a skilled and mature Christian teacher that is moved by the Holy Spirit.

Our first typology study begins with the condition of blindness. There is a very deep meaning throughout the Word of God concerning this condition. Once you learn the full meaning of the condition of spiritual blindness, you can take that deeper meaning and apply it throughout Scripture when it is used in the same context. Most importantly, for this study, it will help us understand the condition of the blind man that saw men as trees walking, when he was partially healed.

Exodus 4:10–11 (KJV 1900)

10 And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?

12. The LORD God reminded Moses that it is He that makes a man’s mouth to speak or makes them dumb, ears to hear, and eyes to see or to be blind.

Deuteronomy 28:15 (KJV 1900)

15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:…

Deuteronomy 28:28–29 (KJV 1900)

…28 The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: 29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee. Blindness – 6427 עִוָּרוֹן (ʿiw·wā·rôn): n.[masc.]; ≡ Str 5788; TWOT 1586b, 1586c—LN 24.1–24.51 blindness, i.e., a state or condition of not being able to see, implying a state of confusion (Dt 28:28; Zec 12:4+)

Confusion of Heart – 9451 תִּמָּהוֹן (tim·mā·hôn): n.[masc.]; ≡ Str 8541; TWOT 2518a—1. LN 25.206–25.222 confusion, panic, i.e., a state or condition of a stunned, confused response either negative or positive, though in context a fearful situation (Zec 12:4+); 2. LN 23.142–23.184 unit: תִּמָּהוֹן לֵבָב (tim·mā·hôn lē·ḇāḇ) mental illness, formally, confusion of the heart, i.e., a physical condition of weakness of the mind, and so a person is in a confused condition and unable to respond normally and naturally to his daily condition (Dt 28:28+)

13. Disobedience to the LORD God will cause Him to smite the sinners with blindness, and they will be in darkness even at the brightest time of day.

14. The spiritually blind will grope in the darkness to attempt to find their way.

15. The spiritually blind will be in a state of confusion. They will have an “irrational state of not having a right mind, and so capable of erratic behavior similar to panic.” They will experience a “physical condition of weakness of the mind and be unable to respond normally and naturally to their daily conditions.”

16. Those struck by the LORD God with spiritual blindness will not thrive in their paths they journey.

Matthew 9:27–31 (KJV 1900)

27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country. (Matthew 9:27-31)

17. The miraculous deed of the Lord Jesus Christ healing the two blind men is recorded in Matthew 9:27-31, which is a section of the Gospel that focuses on the acts of His healing and teaching.

18. The two blind men that followed the Lord were crying and calling after Him to have mercy upon them. They followed Christ, NOT in the sense of discipleship; but rather, because they wanted to be healed of their blindness.

19. They came to Jesus and He asked them if the “Believe(d) ye that I am able to do this?” They acknowledged their belief in His power to heal their blindness.

20. Jesus touched their eyes, saying “According to your faith be it unto you.” Note that Jesus did NOT heal them according to His power and full ability to heal them instantly. Instead, He based their healing upon their faith in Him to do so. Which allows us to surmise that even with spiritual blindness, the ability to know the power of the Lord Jesus Christ to heal them was present before He touched them.

21. From our study of the meaning of the Hebrew words used in Deuteronomy 28:15, 28-29, that describe the smiting of spiritual blindness by the LORD God against those in disobedience to Him, we know more about the men’s condition. We can recognize that the men were confused with an irrational mind and panicked. They could not respond normally or naturally to their daily lives and were weak of mind.

22. The Lord opened the blind men’s eyes! The Lord lifted the conditions that were present in their spiritual blindness, and they were able to finally see fully the Truth of God. They were NO longer confused, anxious, panicked, or unable to function in their daily natural and spiritual lives.

23. Jesus instructed them to tell no man about the miracles, but they disobeyed Him and spread his fame throughout the country.

Matthew 11:2–6 (KJV 1900)

2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, 3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? 4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: 5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. (Matthew 11:2-6)

24. John the Baptist asked his disciples to meet with Jesus and determine if He were the Messiah that has come.

25. The Messiah Jesus Christ answered and told John’s disciples to “go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see:” Note the word again. Jesus acknowledge that John had heard “some” by this reference and needed to know more to confirm His promised Messiahship.

26. Jesus Christ showed His power to give the blind their sight.

Luke 4:17–19 (KJV 1900)

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:17-19)

27. Jesus Christ taught from the Book of Isaiah 61:1-2 in the Synagogue with the reading.

28. Part of that reading spoke that the LORD God had sent Him to recover the sight to the blind.

29. Jesus, through the reading, announced that the Spirit of the LORD God was upon Him.

Note that it is the Spirit of the LORD God, resting on Jesus, which delivers the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Fear of the LORD God, and Knowledge.

Note that it is the Lord Jesus Christ’s Spirit which rests on Christians which delivers the Spirit of Truth, Life, Adoption, Promise, Grace, and Holiness.

Jesus Christ announces in Luke 17 that it is the Spirit of the Lord which is upon Him that gives Him the power to recover the sight of the blind.

The next Scripture we will study is an exceptionally long account of a blind man from birth. This account reveals a great deal about the condition of blindness. As you read the passage, take Statements of Facts (SOF) to keep track of all you can learn from this passage, then compare them with my own SOF’s to see how well you did!

33. Jesus Christ spat on the ground and made clay out of the spittle, anointing the eyes of the blind man with the clay. (We will study typology for spittle and eyes later in these lessons we are currently studying).

34. After wiping the clay on the blind man’s eyes, Jesus instructed him to “Go and WASH in the pool of Siloam.”

35. The meaning of the pool of Siloam is interpreted as “Sent.”

36. The blind man WASHED in the pool of Siloam, and received his eyesight and was able to see.

37. To “see” typologically means “to spiritually perceive and understand.” It is the opposite of blindness, which typologically means to be spiritually confused with ignorant, panicked weakness of the mind.

John 9:8–12 (KJV 1900)

8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? 9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. 10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? 11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. 12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.

38. The neighbors and witnesses thought they recognized the newly seeing man as the blind one previously that had begged.

39. The healed seeing man admitted that he was the same man, and explained that Jesus made clay, anointed his eyes, and sent him to the Pool of Siloam to wash. It told the neighbors that when he washed, he received sight.

40. They asked him where Christ was, and he said “I know not.”

John 9:13–17 (KJV 1900)

13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. 15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. 16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. 17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

Revile – 33.393 λοιδορέω; λοιδορία, ας f: to speak in a highly insulting manner—‘to slander, to insult strongly, slander, insult.’

41. The seeing man was brought to the Pharisees (An ancient Judaism sect in the 1st Century BC to 1st Century AD.

a. They were an elite group that forced Jewish law with their interpretations and standards in the daily lives of the Jews.

b. Typologically, A Pharisee is a sanctimonious, hypocritical, self-righteous heretic who practices and advocates strict observance of external forms and ceremonies of religion or conduct without regard to the spirit. He makes a hypocritical show of religious devotion, piety, and righteousness. He is confident of his own righteousness and is smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinion and behavior of others. He pretends to have moral, religious beliefs and principles which he does not possess.

42. The Pharisee elites questioned the seeing man how his sight was restored, knowing full well that it was Sabbath Day when Jesus made the clay.

a. Doing work on Sabbath is against the religious laws that were enforced by the Pharisees.

b. Mixing the clay with the spittle and ground would be considered work by the Pharisees.

c. Some of the Pharisees said that Jesus Christ could NOT be a man of God, because He did NOT keep Sabbath.

d. Some of the Pharisees said that a man that is a sinner do such miracles.

e. These different accusations caused a division amongst the Pharisees.

f. The Pharisees turned to the seeing man and asked what he thought. The healed man answered, “He is a prophet.” (A prophet proclaims utterances of God’s voice)

John 9:18–23 (KJV 1900)

18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. 19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? 20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: 21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. 22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. 23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

43. The Jewish Pharisees did NOT believe the seeing man’s analysis that the healer, Jesus Christ was a prophet. Nor did they believe that the seeing man had been blind and then received his sight.

44. The Pharisees contacted the seeing man’s parents to confirm that he was born blind. They affirmed that he was blind at birth and that the seeing man was their son. However, they don’t know how he sees suddenly, or who opened his eyes. They told the Pharisees to ask him since he was old enough to speak for himself.

45. The parents did not want to explain fully because they feared the Jewish Pharisees because they would be thrown out of the synagogue if they confessed Christ.

John 9:24–29 (KJV 1900)

24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. 25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. 26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? 27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? 28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples. 29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

46. The Pharisees said to the healed blind man, “Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.”

47. The seeing man said he did NOT know whether he was a sinner or not that ultimately caused his blindness by the LORD God.

48. But the seeing man said, the one thing he did know is that he was blind, and now he sees.

49. When the Pharisees questioned once again “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”

50. The seeing man answered that he had already told them once. Did they want to know more details so they could also be his disciples?

51. The Pharisees spoke in a highly insulting manner to the seeing man and said “You are his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.”

52. Then to show their supposed superiority over the seeing man who proclaimed the miracle of sight through the touch of Jesus Christ, they said that they know that God spoke to Moses; as for Jesus, they did NOT know from where he is.

John 9:30–34 (KJV 1900)

30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes. 31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. 32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. 33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. 34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

53. The seeing man was astounded that the Pharisees sees the miracle of his blindness healed and the opening of his eyes; yet they claim to NOT know that Christ was from God.

54. The seeing man acknowledged that God does NOT hear sinners. But, if any man worships God, and does his will, then God will hear them.

55. The seeing man further exhorted that there has NEVER been heard of a man born blind to have his eyes opened that he could see.

56. The seeing man proclaimed, “If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.”

57. The Pharisees charged that the man was born in sins, and that he had no right to teach them. They cast him out of their presence.

John 9:35–38 (KJV 1900)

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. 38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

58. Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and found the healed, seeing man. He asked if he believed on the Son of God.

59. The seeing man asked who the Son of God was that he might believe on him.

60. Jesus Christ said to him “You have both seen him, and it is he that talks with you.”

61. The seeing man said, “Lord I believe.” Then he worshipped the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

John 9:39–41 (KJV 1900)

39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. 40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

62. Jesus told the seeing man “For judgment I am come into this world:”

a. “That they which see not might see;”

b. “That they which see might be made blind.”

63. When the Pharisees overheard Jesus make this declaration, they asked Him “Are we blind also?”

64. Jesus replied, “If you were blind, you should have no sin: but now you say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

a. If you are blind, you cannot have sin.

b. If you can see, your sin remains.
