What is the deep, typological meaning of the vision of the blind man when his vision was partially healed by Christ to see the mysteries of God concerning the “trees,” before his full healing took place in Mark 8:22-26?”

Mark 8:22–26 (KJV 1900)

22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

This study of the mysteries of “Trees” given to us by the Lord has already opened Scripture to fuller potential for understanding. Please reexamine the deeper learning concerning the mysteries of God that we have learned so far: (Look at the Typology Workbook for succinct definitions).

We have learned quite a lot of deeper things, haven’t we? As mature Christian Bible students, it is your responsibility to examine Scripture and my teachings carefully and ask for clarification if you do NOT understand. Further, it is your duty to correct your Bible Teacher immediately if I have, God forbid, made a mistake in my discernment and presentation of God’s Truth from Scripture. Please approach my Bible study with the same mature regard and wise care that you use when the Holy Spirit is guiding your personal Bible studies. I only teach Bible Studies that the Holy Spirit has guided me fully in writing them and I am fully confident of God’s Truth when I publish these studies; but I am always a bit untrusting of my ability to remain mistake free. Support me to confirm God’s Truth through your careful examination process.

What is the Typology for Trees?

Consider the deeply defined Greek word that designates the word “tree” spoken about in Mark 8:22-26. Sometimes, English words do NOT reflect the full meaning of the Greek word for tree:

Tree – 1285 δένδρον (dendron), ου (ou), τό (to): n.neu.; ≡ Str 1186—LN 3.2 fruit tree, possibly in some contexts, bush Mt 7:17; 13:32; 21:8; Mk 8:24; Lk 3:9; 13:19; 21:29; Jude 12; Rev 8:7; 9:4

(Fruits) – δεξιά (dexia), ᾶς (as), ἡ (hē): n.fem. [served by 1288]; ≡ Str 1188—1. LN 8.32 right hand (Mt 6:3; Mk 16:19 v.r.); 2. LN 76.4 power, figurative extension of prior entry (Ac 2:33); 3. LN 34.42 δεξιὰς δίδωμι … κοινωνιας (dexias didōmi … koinōnias), make a covenant (Gal 2:9+); 4. LN 87.34 ἐκ δεξιῶν καθίζω (ek dexiōn kathizō), be in high position (Mt 20:23; Mk 10:40+); 5. LN 87.36 καθίζω ἐν δεξιᾷ (kathizō en dexia), be in high position (Heb 1:3; 8:1; 12:2+); 6. LN 28.74 do secretly (Mt 6:3+), see ἀριστερά (aristera), ᾶς (as), ἡ (hē), between 753–754

1. When the partially healed blind man said “I see men as trees, walking” the trees he observed were FRUIT PRODUCING TREES. This fact is extremely important throughout our study of trees.

2. Those belonging to the LORD God are NOT tree standing still and silent. They PRODUCE FRUITS! That is the exact nature of all the Lord’s people who are walking with Him

3. There is even more meaning to the Greek word for “tree” spoken in Mark 8:22-26. RIGHT HAND = POWER! That is a typology definition throughout Scripture! Always! For instance, to be at the right hand of the LORD God indicates that the Lord Jesus Christ wields HIS POWER! (Mark 16:19) (Teacher note: For a side-trip deep Bible Study, find “right hand” throughout Scripture, and see the power of the right hand reflected!)

4. Why is the right hand of power connected to the Greek word for fruit tree in Scripture? I don’t know. However, the meanings of both words, “fruit tree” and “right-hand power” are connected fully in the Greek language in original Scripture manuscripts. The words are that important to Greek meaning, that the connection was made to reflect the full meaning together.

5. Walking fruit-trees were observed by the partially healed blind man in Mark 8:22-26, and those moving trees were filled the POWER OF THE LORD!

Kathy L McFarland Teachings

Throughout our study of trees, we will be examining the part of a tree that Christians develop as they begin their walk by establishing and then throughout their lives leading to the maturity of producing fruits.

The Lord Jesus Christ partially healed the blind man in a supernatural way so he could announce one of the Lord’s primary visions for the development of His Saints! By the end of this complete study, your entire faith walk will become secure in the knowledge of exactly what the Lord Jesus Christ intends as you walk with Him with strong and faithful spiritual growth.
